About Me
Hello! I’m Mel with my dog Rosie.
My background is in Interior Design and Home Staging and, having worked in this industry for many years, it was time for a fresh challenge and to learn a new skill.
I studied both traditional and modern upholstery techniques, attaining a Credit for each of the 3 stages to gain my Diploma from the Association of Master Upholsterers & Soft Furnishers (AMUSF) - a professional qualification recognised by the industry.
During this studious time I entered the annual Heico Design Competition where entrants design a small child’s chair, within a specified size. I was thrilled to achieve a Highly Commended for the aeroplane chair I designed, constructed and upholstered. It was great fun to do and l learned a lot doing it - well into the night!
Due to my Interior Design background, I have many years of experience listening carefully to client’s needs. I am happy to come up with ideas on fabric colour - or combination of colours - and texture together with any additional decorative treatment which you may have in mind.
