Once I have seen your piece of furniture, measured it’s dimensions and assessed it’s solidity, I will be able to gauge the amount of work required and provide you with an estimate, including the amount of fabric needed.
As you can appreciate, the true condition of the frame or inner materials can only be discovered once the external coverings have been removed. If I find further work is required at this stage, I will send you a description, plus photographs, of problem areas plus any associated cost.
Due to the unpredictability of what I may find once the top fabric has been removed, it will have a knock-on effect to the time it takes to repair, restore, replace, reinstall and recreate to make it look beautiful again.
The time taken to restore your chair or sofa will depend on its condition, the complexity of the original upholstery construction or if you would like any additional decorative treatment such as deep buttoning or trims.
I take great pride in every piece of furniture that comes into my workshop. It is important to me that each piece is restored properly - with love and care, whether the job is large or small, an antique or a more contemporary piece.
Upholstery is a highly skilled craft and very labour-intensive, so to achieve a top-notch, quality finish does take time.
